HISTORY
Aqua Voster was established in Angola in 2012, after a comprehensive water market analysis conducted in 2011.
2012 -2014
Operations started in early 2012 after the first drilling rig acquisition. The services were provided mainly to individual clients, averaging one water well per contract.
The following year, 2013, Aqua Voster acquired two additional rigs, upgrading company’s capacity to several simultaneous water wells. The company started the water management platform development.
In 2014, further investment took place. Aqua Voster acquired two additional rigs and supporting equipment, including high capacity air compressors. The company introduced the water management platform to institutional clients.
2015 -2021
In 2015, the financial crisis in Angola reduced market competition in the water sector, leading Aqua Voster to increase market share.
The financial and monetary crisis continued to hit Angola in 2016. National currency devaluated further, causing inflation and consequently higher operational costs. Despite the situation, Aqua Voster solidified market position, broadening client base.
Between 2017 and 2021, Aqua Voster maintained a stable balance sheet, allowing the company to keep providing outstanding water services. Aqua Voster finished 2021 as a water sector leading company in Angola.

RIG FLEET
Aqua Voster’s fleet consists of five rigs (four truck-mounted rigs and one track-mounted rig), with drilling depth capabilities of up to 325 meters.
Each rig is fully independent, being supported by full set of equipment (air compressors, mud-pumps, etc.) and cargo trucks, resulting in a versatile fleet, capable of drilling in any region of Angola.
The fleet is core to the business, therefore is subject to a rigorous maintenance program for optimal performance.

MANAGEMENT TEAM
Chairman
JOSÉ MATOS, co-founder of Aqua Voster, has served as chairman since 2012. He has more than 40 years’ experience across water wells and wood/forestry industries in Portugal.
As chairman, he provides support to the managing director and his team, when preparing and updating company’s strategic plan. Prior to establishing Aqua Voster, he created and developed his forestry and water family business in Portugal, working as managing director and non-executive director respectively. His forestry business, created in 1972, accomplished several afforestation World-Bank- and EU-financed projects.
